Ben Levitas MBA, MSc, BA

1950 – Born in Johannesburg
1967 – Matriculated at Pretoria Boys High School. Colours for Athletics and Cross Country.
1968 – Witwatersrand University. Completed 1st year BA, in Social Anthropology, Geography and Asian Studies.
1969 Completed Ulpan in Jerusalem.
1969-1972 – B.A at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in International Relations and Sociology.
1972-73 – M.Sc. at the London School of Economics
1974 – Management trainee at OK Bazaars. Personnel Manager at Verwoerdburg Branch.
1975-1977 – Publisher’s representative for the Open University at United Book Distributors.
1978-1979 – Senior Researcher at the Human Resources Laboratory of the Chamber of Mines.
1977-79 – MBA at University of Pretoria-Gordon Institute of Business.
1980 – Founded Boston House College. Principal and teacher.
1983 – Wrote and published Textbook; “Ethnology-an introduction to the peoples and cultures of Southern Africa”
1984 – Wrote and published “South African Tribal Life Today” and a series of books on tribal life.
1986 – Married Esta. They have 4 children together.
1986-2007 – As CEO built Astore Africa into a market leader in its field and sold to a listed Company. Simultaneously, started 13 other Companies.
2010-2014 – Chairman of SAZF (Cape Council)
2011 – 2004 – National Vice Chairman

Author of 5 books on anthropology.
Also serves on the Editorial Board of the Cape Jewish Chronicle.

 

Michael Bauer MCFM, Dipl Business Administration

Michael is General Manager and Managing Director or IHFM Property Ltd.

Elna van der Ham

Mrs Elna van der Ham graduated in 1977 from the University of Stellenbosch in Oral Hygiene. She has worked in general private practice for 4 years and has since been working in Specialist Dental Practices in Periodontics and Implantology for the last 31 years. She obtained her Extended Functions in Oral Hygiene from the University of theWestern Capein 1997.  Elna has been involved in the Oral Hygienists’ Association of South Africa as President for 6 years and is currently serving on the Local Organizing Committee for the 19th International Symposium on Dental Hygiene 2013. She also serves as the secretary of the South African Society of Implantology.  She is an invited guest speaker at numerous seminars and symposia on various topics pertaining to her profession focusing on Biofilm, Implant Maintenance, Rootplaning, Dental Bleaching and many other oral hygiene topics.

Dr. Marc Sher 

Dr Marc Sher is a dentist operating in Cape Town, South Africa. He has extensive and varied experience, with his own practice and a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

• Matriculated from Herzlia High School in 2001 with distinction.
• Enrolled and accepted to Stellenbosch University Dental School in 2002.
• Stopped in June 2002 – took a GAP year. Lived in London and Seychelles. Became a PADI certified dive master.
• July 2003- continued Dental School at Stellenbosch University.
• Graduated from the combined universities of Stellenbosch and UWC in 2007.
• Worked as community service Dentist in Kynsna and Plettenberg Bay 2008.
• Joined a private practice in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town in 2009 till June 2010 as an associate dentist.
• Joined a private practice in Sea Point, Cape Town in June 2010 as an associate dentist.
• Bought into current practice in November 2013, now practicing under my own name.
• Completed basic and advanced implantology courses with the Implant and Aesthetic Academy in 2009 and 2014 respectively.
• Worked as dental brand ambassador for OTC pharma and Litha pharma in 2012 and 2013.
• Completed numerous radios interviews for SAFM, Cape Talk 567, Chai Fm and others.
• Held a regular talk show spot on Health Matters with 567 Cape Talk from 2012 until now.
• Joined the Dental Wellness Trust in 2013
• Scope of dentistry includes: Implant placement and implant restorations, Extractions including Atraumatic surgical extractions, Endodontics, All prosthetic work including dentures, ceramic crowns and veneers, Routine oral hygiene treatment including minor periodontal treatment, Paediatric dentistry.
• Hobbies include: Surfing, Yoga, Triathlon events, Scuba Diving, Golf, gym, travel, food, wine.

 

Patricia Lerm

Patricia has lived in Melkbosstrand for the past 40 years. She loves Melkbosstrand and is actively involved in the community.

She has experience of working as a guest house owner and manager, interior decorator and now works as an estate agent at Leapfrogs.

She started the toothbrush collection project with her colleague Petra Van Asch and has already thousands of toothbrushes for the DWT.
