Crisis at Christmas 2012

The Dental Wellness Trust teamed up with Crisis at Christmas to help improve the lives of homeless people in the UK. Throughout the year, the Crisis charity prevents or reduces levels of homelessness through education, employment, housing and health and wellbeing services. The Dental Wellness Trust took part in the annual Crisis at Christmas event to help disadvantaged people to take ownership of their oral health. In partnership with the Dental Directory, the DWT donated 3,000 toothbrushes to Crisis at Christmas, ensuring that every visitor over the festive period received a toothbrush.

Leslie Morphy, chief executive of Crisis, said: “Without the generosity of our donors and volunteers, Crisis at Christmas would not be possible. We would like to thank the Dental Wellness Trust for their vital donation of 3,000 toothbrushes to our guests at Crisis at Christmas. It is often extremely difficult for homeless people to access decent health and dental care, so being able to offer toothbrushes directly to our guests is extremely important.”
