Calling ALL UK dentists to donate excess stock of toothbrushes and toothpaste to the most vulnerable and help reduce the burden of coronavirus

Please support our oral health challenge aimed at dental practitioners to ensure that those most in need (i.e. the elderly and the most vulnerable) affected by COVID-19 have access to a toothbrush and toothpaste.

During the period of lock down where many practices remain temporarily closed, we are urging ALL UK dentists to contact their local care homes, hospices and care facilities (as soon as possible) and offer excess stock of toothbrushes and toothpaste. The aim is to have delivered a total of 10,000 toothbrushes and paste by the end of May.

So far, the Dental Wellness Trust has already donated in excess of 5,000 toothbrushes and toothpaste to care homes and hospices across London. People living with poor oral health are at an increased risk of many health complications and potentially more susceptible to the effects of any virus. Therefore, those most in need must have access to a toothbrush and toothpaste to keep their mouths clean and healthy.

Remember to take a photo of your toothbrush/paste drop off and post it on social media – along with the amount of brushes/pastes donated and tag @dentalwellnesstrust on Instagram or @dentalwellness.trust on Facebook along with the hashtag #covid19dentalchallenge

In addition, we have also launched our Crowdfunder page to raise £10k to buy an additional 10k extra toothpaste/brush kits. For every £1 donated, this will buy a toothbrush and toothpaste to help those in need maintain good oral health. Please spread the word.
