INTERNATIONAL TOOTHBRUSHING PROGRAMMES

The Dental Wellness Trust is also involved in many international projects revolving around improving oral health of school children in deprived communities, including Cape Town.

For many children living in townships in South Africa, they have no access to their own toothbrush which is why donations to the supervised toothbrushing programme is essential in preventing tooth decay and other oral health related issues.

Our “Toothbrush Mamas” teach the children how to brush their teeth, wash their hands and basic life skills. Over 12,000 children attend daily to brush their teeth and wash their hands with clean water, something which we can take for granted. Each year the Dental Wellness Trust holds a graduation ceremony to congratulate the children for all their hard work and effort.
